It’s been over six months since we launched the much-anticipated Survey Designer, our slinky new interface for creating surveys for Market Research, Customer Experience and employee engagement programs. As with all elements of the Confirmit Horizons platform, Survey Designer receives frequent enhancements, tweaks and additions as part of our continuous deployment approach, so I thought now was an opportune moment to update you on some of the newer features you may have missed.

Efficiency and automation are the watchwords of Market Research these days, and we’ve been working hard to ensure that Survey Designer helps researchers, Voice of the Employee and Voice of the Customer professionals to create high quality, sophisticated surveys as efficiently as possible. Much of our focus has been on improving workflows and making routine tasks as repeatable as possible. There’s not space in one blog post to cover everything we’ve done since launch, but here are a few highlights.

  • Translation: To support and streamline the creation of multi-lingual surveys, we’ve added the ability to manage translations via MS Excel. The process provides a smooth, simple workflow and it really speeds up the translation process.
  • Call blocks: For question groups that are used regularly, Survey Designer now supports the ability to call up self-contained sub-sections of surveys so authors can quickly and easily drop them into new surveys.
  • Dynamic pages: This is a key design element for helping boost response rates. Survey Designer users can now enable this function to allow questions to appear dynamically based on responses to previous questions. It’s a feature that’s well-used by many of our clients, so great to have this available for Survey Designer users.
  • Quota Wizard: Quotas are of course critical to many MR programs so this was a key addition to the tool. You can now create quotas based on a single question or more complex combinations of questions through a really easy-to-use interface.
  • Multi-editing of question details: We’ve now introduced support for multiple editing of question details. This provides a great efficiency gain for more advanced users.
  • Support from simple question piping via drag and drop: We now support drag and drop piping from the questionnaire tree into any text fields (see below), just grab a question and drop it in the text field.

 

 

If you’ve always been a die-hard user of Confirmit Professional Authoring for all your survey creation needs, take a look at Survey Designer (there’s a demo recording here). You can access it from the Quick Launch sidebar when you log in, and I really think you’ll enjoy using it. More enhancements are coming soon and we’ll tell you about them using our new in-product notifications – and I’ll blog about them again before the end of the year.
