Why should I enter the ACE awards?
There are lots of reasons to enter – from industry recognition, to rewarding your dedicated employees to having a shiny new trophy to display to new customers and partners. Find more reasons here.
Should I plan my answers in advance?
Absolutely! The questions are mainly qualitative in nature so it’s well worth planning and refining your answers to give you the best chance of winning. We recommend having a read through our sample submission form which is available here and drafting your answers in Word (or similar) so you can paste your final answers in easily.
Can I enter more than one category? Can I win in more than one?
You can enter as many as you choose, simply select the categories you want to enter at the top of the form and your submission will automatically be entered into each category. There will be multiple winners for each category, as well as a Judges’ Choice winner for each. You may be named a winner in more than one category, but we’d recommend entering a maximum of 3 categories to ensure you’re able to provide a clear submission.
I work for a Market Research Company – can I enter any category?
As an MR company entering a client’s VoC program, we recommend you enter the Insight Through a Market Research Agency category. This is because for this category, the judges will be looking specifically for evidence of an MR agency working closely with their client, and demonstrating the use of their research expertise in delivering a great VoC program. What will the judges be looking for?
The judges will be looking for evidence of action based on a VoC program. There are a few metrics-based questions in the submission form, and metrics are great, but they don’t always tell the whole story. Focus on demonstrating what you’ve done to turn the Voice of the Customer into genuine action. Do include any numbers that show the actions you’ve taken have had an impact – e.g. ROI, cost savings, revenue increases.
Ok…what should I NOT do?
Sneaky question! Don’t assume that non-financial issues don’t matter – areas like culture change are high on the judges’ priorities. So while you may not be able to show financial results, do tell us about how your processes, approach, attitudes have changed for the better as a result of listening more closely to customers.
Oh, and don’t write your submission in a vacuum. It’s worth speaking to a few people involved in your program who might have a different insight or are aware of some results that you’ve not thought to include. A good VoC program impacts the entire business, so check with your colleagues.
Are there any examples of previous winners I can look at?
We don’t share previous submission forms, but the 2015 ACE Winners book provides highlights of some of last year’s winning program which may inspire you.
Do I need to provide any supporting documents?
No, as long as you ensure that you’ve completed the submission form in full, that will give the judges all they need to know.
I’ve completed my submission – what’s next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email initially and then your nomination will be reviewed by the judges once the nomination period closes. Winners will be notified before April 27th and public announcements will be made in May.
