Recruitment is one of the most important - and high profile - functions of any HR department. The value it provides to the business is highly visible, so ensuring that you find and recruit the right people is vital. You need to ensure that your business offers a compelling value proposition to candidates.
But knowing what candidates are looking for isn't easy. Salaries are always a factor but there are many other issues that will convince, or prevent, someone accepting your offer. Location, benefits, flexible working and external perceptions of the company and its brand all play a part - but in what proportions?
By designing and implementing a process for gathering feedback after an offer of employment is accepted or rejected, you can establish what the key "selling points" are for new employees. You can also find out what the main barriers are for candidates who reject a job offer.
