About the position

Description of Responsibilities:
  • Administration of On-Demand environments
    • Administration of On-Demand server environments in the UK and US with millions of daily page hits and an uptime target of 99,95%.
    • Planning and participating in system and application upgrades.
    • Proactively monitoring and tuning of environments in cooperation with hosting provider.
    • Performing and improving routines for backups, clustering, fail-over, load balancing, firewall rulesets, etc.
  • Consultancy
    • Functioning as an external consultant for new and existing on-premise clients related to installations, upgrades and migrations.
    • Cooperate with the sales team in developing and documenting architecture recommendations for clients, with considerations for security, performance, scalability and stability.
  • Third line technical support
    • Handle support requests through our web based support center.
    • Analyze root cause incidents and escalate/cooperate with our developers when required.
    • Follow up with clients via phone when web based support is insufficient.
    • Participate in further improvement of FAQ entries and technical documentation.
Qualifications or Skills required:
  • Knowledge of web-based server environments based on Windows 2003/2008, IIS, MS SQL Server 2005/2008.
  • Certifications like Windows 2003 MCTS/MCITP/MCSE/MCSA, MCDBA, MCP, A+, or similar a plus, but no requirement.

  • Takes personal interest in the quality of her/his work, and in the further development of her/his skills.
  • Has an enthusiastic and focused work ethic and a ‘How may I help you?’ attitude.
  • Is able to utilize the English language, both written and orally, in an adequate manner.
  • Has a bachelor’s or master’s degree from college, or similar relevant education. Employment record can substitute formal higher education.
  • Has minimum two years relevant work.
