Confirmit 12 New Feature List - Confirmit Community Panel

Sampling

Basic Sampling Basic Sampling is used to perform a sampling job without the need to define a Sampling Matrix - i.e. just based on filter (restriction) and exclusions.
Sampling on Dynamic Target Dynamic Target Sampling will balance the samples according to the panel's composition (the current distribution in the panel on the dimensions in the matrix), without the user needing to specify this as set targets in a matrix weight.
Pull to expected returns Instead of setting the target as the number of panelists to extract in a sample, the "pull to expected returns" setting allows the user to set the target as the number of completed interviews desired on the survey. The sample algorithm will calculate how many panelists have to be pulled from a "expected return variable" in the panel database. This variable holds the probability of the panelist completing a survey.
Expected Return Variable A dropdown for selecting the numeric variable for "expected return" (response rate) that can be used if 'Pull to expected returns' is selected. This variable should have a value between 0 and 1 for the probability of the panelist completing a survey.
Sample post weighting On sub samples, there is now a weight setting that is used to weight panelists with high or low response rate when sampling with "pull to expected returns", so that a higher or lower rate of respondents with high probability of responding will be selected. (With more respondents with high probability of responding, fewer panelists must be included in the sample and vice versa.)
Concurrent Sampling The Concurrent Sampling option allows you to select many jobs then execute them simultaniously. The sampling algorithm will then perform sample balancing to ensure an optimal fit across the jobs.
Automate Augment Sampling When running a sample job the desired target of completes is often not met. To be able to automate the process of adding optional samples an automatic augment process is introduced.
Option to specify sampling algorithm for single job execution For non-concurrent (single) sample jobs, there are now two sampling algorithms available: The v11 sampling algorithm (legacy), and the new v12 sampling algorithm. The new algorithm supports sampling based on "expected return" (response rate) for each panelist.
Ability to select multiple statuses for job exclusion Users can now select multiple survey statuses in Manual Job Elimination.
Auto Elimination based on a custom job property Property eliminination, similar to date and category elimination, is introduced.
Show favorites only in Sample Upload project list In Panel, on the upload page when the user selects the project, there is an option to show projects in the users’ favorite list (instead of all projects).
Multiple Sample Upload The multiple upload option allows you to select many jobs (these jobs have been executed), and upload them simultaniously instead of individually.
Automate sampling -> sample upload -> emailing process The ability to automate sampling, sample upload and emailing for a single job and for concurrent sampling, is added.
Automate sample upload to new project The ability to specify a template project that is created for each sample run, so that the project is created and sample uploaded as part of the sampling process, is added.
Automate emailing in batches The ability to schedule sample emailing in batches based on the MailCode is added.
Automate email reminder The ability to schedule an email reminder as part of the automated sampling process is added.
Automatic Panel Project Linking Instead of the user having to set the link between project and panel manually, this will now be done automatically as part of the sample upload.
Multiple job runs for a job This option gives the ability to associate multiple mail dates with one job. This means that one job can contain several job runs that can all be emailed. Previously only one job run could be posted and hence uploaded at a time.
Export sample file You can export the sample file of each job run.
All panel variables in Tester Template All the panel variables can be set in the improved tester template.
Interview progress It is now possible to update and report on Interview progress for the survey to which a job has been uploaded.
OutGo Report for sampling by "Expected Returns" For sampling jobs run with "Pull to Expected Returns", "Expected Returns" is included in the OutGo report.
Sample output reports using segments from matrix This function is an improvement on the cross tab report. Now the user can select segments from a matrix for their reports.
New sorting of Exclusions in the job definition report In the Job Definition Report, exclusions are now sorted by job numbers.
Cross-tab Reports Ability to perform simple cross-tab analysis on the sample file.
Create BitStream files equivalent to the sample output file A Bitstream fileset is created equvialent to the sample output file. This enables cross tab reporting on the sample output file both in Confirmit Reportal and in each Sample job.
Notification displayed when changing job When the user is working with a job, if they choose another job on the job list then a pop up will appear, forcing them to click “OK” before continuing to edit another job. This will prevent users from accidentally changing the wrong job.

Reporting

Community Panel Snapshot A rule is introduced for performing regular extracts of the panel database to a separate "snapshot" database, to use as basis for reporting on panel composition over time.
Create OLAP cube OLAP cubes can be created based on the snapshot database and survey history from a Community Panel. These cubes can then be used for reporting purposes.
Reporting on panel composition over time and survey history On top of the OLAP cubes built on the snapshot database and survey history, a dynamic report interface can be provided. This allows panel administrators to drill-down and analyse developments over time.

Panel Management

Send Email From Rule It is now possible to send emails when executing rule script, with the same function calls as in the survey engine (SendMail).
Logging from scripts in Rules It is now possible to perform logging with AddLogMessage from scripts in Rules.
Bitstream as Rule Source BitStream files can now be used as the source in a rule.
Adding survey fields for SurveyRules You can add additional survey variables for a rule with the source type “Survey” by typing the name of the variable into the "Additional Survey Variables" textbox. The default variable type is String.
Panel Activity Log Overview An overview page is added to the Panel Activity Log to show aggregated information from the log and display it in groups.
Change SurveyStatus codes The sequence of the available statuses within the SurveyStatus field has been changed.
Link to Survey from Panelist Editor This option allows users to know which survey a panelist has entered, just by clicking on a link.
Community Panel survey scripting functions available in custom code assemblies Community Panel survey scripting functions (ex: GetPanelistVariables) will be available in custom code assemblies (for server customers).
Survey link in Single Panelist Editor The survey link is added to the surveys tabs in the single panelist editor.
AddRespondent-function to update respondent-row if it already exists The AddRespondent function will update the respondent row if it already exists, and insert a new row if it does not.

Community Portal

Ability to modify "Lost password" email You can now modify the text in the "Lost password" email that is sent to panelists if they click "Lost password?" on the panel login page.
Right-click on style name to open style settings You can right-click on a style name where applied in the properties of a visual component to open the style settings, as in Survey Layout.
Image instead of text in Page Link It is possible to exchange text with an image in Panel Page Link components. This allows panelists to click an image instead of the survey name to start the survey.
Show which page you are editing When designing pages in Community Portal, the interface will now clearly show which page you are working on.
Hide pages when a panelist is logged in. A property is introduced to enable the hiding of certain pages when a panelist is logged in.
Hide page elements when panelist is logged in A property is introduced to enable the hiding of certain page elements when a panelist is logged in.
Link panelists to a fixed theme A property is introduced to allow a panel variable to control which theme is to be set in the portal for a panelist.
